Wheres My Full Package of M&Ms?

Not the most edge of your seat--pee your pants--heart racing--bite of someone elses nails because you've already bitten your own off--game of the season. AJ dealed a nice game, but threw so many wild pitches I thought I was on safari.

He did however, record his 100th K of the season (sorry AJ, no pie in the face for this one). Hughes and Rivera were dominant as usual, Coke a little shaky but no worries, the Yankees controlled any last minute heroics to hold onto the game for a 4-3 victory. The bottom of the Yankees order did most of the scoring tonight, with 3 of the 4 runs coming in the second inning. The Twins offense was about as "one man show" as N*Sync (admit it, you only know Justin Timberlake)

Playing the role of Justin Timberlake tonight was Joe Mauer (of which a resemblance can be seen, no?) He got the teams only RBIs, and collected a third of the total hits. Is anyone surprised? As if there isn't enough proof in this world of just how great Joe Mauer is, he officially has enough at bats to be counted in the batting average rankings, and guess what? Thats right, he's first. Again, is anyone surprised? Joining him on that list is his partner in crime, the other half to his M&M, Justin Morneau. Morneau has so far been kept hitless in this series. I feel like I'm eating the fun size package (there is nothing fun about less candy), where are the rest of the M&Ms?!  I'm sure he'll make up for it with a stellar performance tomorrow.

Leave it to my 3rd grade level attention span to find one of the best parts of the game to be when the stray "Happy Birthday" balloon floated onto the field in the basepaths. In the spirit of that, I curiously decided to look up whose birthday it was today. I doubt the birthday balloon neither belonged to John D. Rockefeller nor Toby Keith.

Pitching for the Yankees tomorrow will be Fettucini Alfredo "Ace" Aceves. Taking over for the injured Chen Ming Wang, Ace is expected to throw between 60-65 pitches tomorrow, so its crucial for Ace to go as deep into the game as he can and for the bullpen (probably count on seeing David Robertson) to keep the pitch counts as low as possible and really get the job done. Remember, Aceves started 4 games for the Yankees last september, finishing the month with a 2.57 ERA. Looking forward to tomorrows game, I'm sure he'll do great.
